Disney World is the most visited entertainment resort in the world. Next to it is the also popular entertainment resort called Disneyland. Both are established by the Walt Disney Productions. Disney World is located in Florida while Disneyland is located in California.
In 2010, the recorded visitors of Disneyland came up to approximately 600 million, making it the second most visited entertainment resort in the world, next to Disney World. In Disney World alone, Magic Kingdom, its most visited theme park, made a record of annual attendance of almost 17 million visits. What makes Magic Kingdom so interesting to people is its features and attractions like the Tomorrowland, the Storybook Circus, the Fantasyland, the Liberty Square, the Frontier Land, the Adventureland, and the Main Street, U.S.A.
Tomorrowland highlights futuristic attractions that show how the 50s visualized the next generation’s appearance after several decades. Most appreciated attractions there are Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Stitch’s Great Escape, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tomorrowland Transit Authority, Astro Orbiter, The Carousel Progress, and the Space Mountain.
Storybook Circus is actually still under construction but will be opened early this year of 2012. The Fantasyland is a carnival-like place where attractions like Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan’s Flight, Mickey’s Philarmagic, and It’s A Small World are featured.
Liberty Square is a park with a theme based on how ancient American towns look like while Frontier Land’s theme is about Indians and Cowboys. Adventureland on the other hand is a theme park that looks like an undiscovered and mysterious jungle. The Main Street U.S.A. is a theme park where popular streets in the 20th century America are replicated.
A couple of days to one week of stay in the Disney World surely sounds exciting whether you’re spending some good times with your family or your circle of friends. Planning is very essential to maximize the fun and avoid hassles while you’re already at the resort. First thing that you need to include in the planning is what sort of Disney hotels are you and your family or friends are going to stay in. It’s a good thing that almost every transaction nowadays can be done online. There are many websites hosting Disney World hotel packages would suit your planned vacation.
Most of Disney hotels offered for accommodations online are available in 3 categories: the deluxe, the moderate, and the value. The ones under the deluxe and moderate categories are relatively expensive but you can choose from themed hotels (Animal Kingdom, Caribbean, or Wilderness) and villas that have very good views of lakes, and greeneries. While it’s very good to experience staying in one of these costly hotels while you’re in the most famous entertainment resort with your family or friends, choosing to stay in the value type hotel is not bad. It’s economical and if you’ll think about it, the reason why you want to go there is to spend quality time with your loved ones and have fun. Surely there will be suitable Disney World hotel packages for everyone.
Orlando is an amazing place to vacation for the young (or just young at heart), singles, couples, and especially those traveling with young kids. Florida is hot in the summer and warm in the winter, making it an ideal destination year round. Orlando has it all – whether you seek a swim with the manatees, a day in Disneyworld, or a few rounds of golf – Orlando is your one-stop destination for the entire family.
Booking your hotel reservations is often a matter of choosing between star ratings, price points, amenities, shuttle services or proximity to attractions. Orlando Escape offers the best deals in Orlando hotels all in one place. There is no need to search for the best offers; they show all of the top deals on the home page.
If you are seeking more of the comforts of home, vacation homes are the ideal way to stay. For example, the Vista Cay offers luxury condos and town homes that have privacy, more space and kitchens. These units are perfect for larger groups and those wanting to save money by cooking their own meals. The Vista Cay is located right in Orlando and is near many of the top attractions. More details on Vista Cay are available through Orlando Escape’s site.
If you are seeking a laid-back beach vacation, consider staying in a Florida hotel outside of Orlando. Florida offers many beautiful beaches, many of which are lined with cafes and restaurants across from the breathtaking teal-colored ocean. Stop by Daytona Beach on your way to the Speedway, spend the day on Miami’s south beach before dancing the night away, or book a stay at the Plantation Bay Club to relax on a private beach after a game of tennis.
Orlando is a not-so-hidden gem in the beautiful coastal state of Florida. With endless beaches, a fantastic nightlife, plenty of shopping and of course Disneyworld, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Busch Gardens, your family will never tire of things to do.
The busiest time to visit Disney World is during the holiday seasons, such as Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays. Although the parks are very busy at these times of the year, they also are some of the best times to visit as all the attractions are open later, special events and shows are put on, and spectacular firework displays are happening. You might pay a little more for your Disney World vacation, because the hotel rooms are a little more expensive but overall the price shouldn’t be that much different than if you were coming during the slower times of the year.
A lot of people will choose to visit Disney World out of season so they can enjoy the quieter times and shorter queues, but for many that is not an option. In particular if you have children, you will have to brave the busy periods as this is the only time you will be able enjoy Disney.
One of the greatest things about visiting during the busy holiday season is the late opening times. If you don’t mind staying up late then you should make the most of this extended park time, you will get more for your money as you can stay in the park much later. Plus towards the end of the evening the rides get quieter and people tend to disperse from the most popular locations, making it easier to get around and enjoy the park without all the mayhem.
The best way to make getting around easier during these busy periods is planning. Planning really is essential for a successful trip to Disney. If you want to ensure you get to enjoy all the main attractions then you will need to put a strategy in place.
One thing you can do is make the most of the fast passes. Get to the park early and get in line for your fast pass ticket and then later in the day you can get straight on to your favourite rides. Although a lot of people know about this it is still a great tip.
If seeing some of the afternoon parades and events are not that important to you, then using this time to get on the rides is another great tip. Everyone will head off to watch the show, resulting in much shorter queue times.
During lunch and dinner is also a good time to make the most of smaller crowds. When everyone is eating you can get more rides in and generally enjoy the park without thousands of people blocking your view. Make sure you don’t miss out on lunch though, if you have a specific restaurant in mind, that you want to visit you will need to book ahead.
When you’re a member of DVC, there are some perks when going on your Disney World vacation. One of them is the fact that you can get an extra hour here and there tacked onto your day at certain parks. This varies day by day and what time of the year it is and between an am hour or a late night one. Usually, the early am hour is the best. That way it’s a true extra hour in the park, with only a few hundred people and not thousands upon thousands.
The extra hours at WDW are a lot of fun.
Late night ones are less effective because leftover daily guests are still there and although some do leave, they often hang around and no one, of course, is going to tell them to get out. You get a wristband when you’re on this type of “perk” and that lets staff know you are legitimate.
Where an extra am hour comes in handy is getting breakfast before anyone else, or being able to go to FastPass and get a couple of tickets to a favorite attraction, or just strolling around without having to avoid waves of people exiting or entering rides or waiting in lines. Not all rides and attractions to Disneyworld utilize FastPasses so you can take that ride or attractions after getting your FastPass for other things, then get a head start on everyone else. New attractions are usually packed while others retain their popularity for years. Here are some popular attractions at all four parks:
Animal Kingdom — Head straight to the back of Africa and get a FastPass for Kilimanjaro Safaris. This is a terrific half hour or so of a real ride through herds of animals like zebras and giraffes and elephants. What you see will vary each time, because they are live animals. Make a reservation early at the Yak & Yeti in Asia, if they have space left.
Disney/Hollywood Studios — Make a beeline towards the back of the park and get a FastPass for the Toy Story 3D ride. This one is popular. You can also see when the first American Idol show starts. They interview early for each show and it could be your chance to win a golden ticket which guarantees you an audition in front of judges at real American Idol auditions.
Magic Kingdom – This park, which is most like Disneyland, is packed on Saturday and Sunday. Use extra hours to get FastPasses to your favorite rides.
Epcot – This a favorite of adults and there are many popular rides and events here. One of them is a simulated hang glider ride called Soarin’, over California and this attraction can be found in The Land, bottom level, which is to the right as you enter Epcot.
These extra hours are only available to guests staying on Disney property and at Walt Disney World hotels and resorts.
When you take a vacation to Disney World with your family, you know you are going to be within close distance to hundreds of things to see and do that will keep you occupied all day, every day. All that fun in the beautiful Florida weather will get anyone’s appetite going and luckily there are hundreds of restaurants all over Disney World for your family to try. Restaurants range from quick service to fine dining and everything in between! You can enjoy some of the many restaurants that offer themed shows while you eat, or have a meal at one of the large number of eateries at Epcot center that offer international cuisine. If you are interested in dining in Downtown Disney World, there are also a number of options. By far the best restaurant in Downtown Disney World is the Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Café, where you can get some of the best food in the country from one of the best regarded chefs of our time.
The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Café serves this famous and highly respected chef’s interesting and unique fusion of classic California cuisine with an Asian twist.
Located on the West Side of Downtown Disney, this establishment is two eateries in one. The casual and quick Wolfgang Puck Café is located on the bottom floor. Above this is the Dining Room, which offers diners a more sophisticated menu filled with options like perfectly prepared steaks, fresh seafood and wienerschnitzel, a signature item. The stunning presentation features all black linens and bone china, giving your meal a refined look. The display kitchen is also a beautiful sight, as are the breathtaking views over downtown Disney which enhances this elegant dining experience.
This restaurant is open every night from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and is a wonderful place for parents to escape to for a romantic date night, or to celebrate a special occasion with older children. If you will be dining with small children, the downstairs Wolfgang Puck Café is very kid-friendly.
If you want to eat fantastic Wolfgang Puck cuisine but are in a hurry or have the kids in tow, the downstairs Wolfgang Puck Café is a great choice. You will be able to find prepared-to-order lunches and dinners that are fresh and delicious and take very little time.
Try this standout restaurant next time you are in downtown Disney World and you will not be disappointed!
Special Tip: If you want to enjoy many of the restaurants that they offer at Downtown Disney World then I would suggest staying at one of the Disney Good Neighbor hotels which are located directly across the street. Namely, the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Royal Plaza, and Best Western, you will find these hotel rates to be much cheaper than a Disney owned hotel property and it is much easier to get to the Downtown Disney World area from these properties. The website www.Orlandovacation.com has a few great deals on Good Neighbor Hotels.
